From spa days and safari sunsets to wine tasting in Stellenbosch and a private yacht on her birthday, we are pulling out all the stops for Octasia's 40th in the Motherland. This is not a public trip — this is an intimate, hand-curated celebration for the woman who has always shown up for everyone else. Now it is her turn.
Experience South Africa the way it was meant to be felt. Let the African rhythm move through you at a 14-course dinner that doubles as a live performance. Watch the Big Five roam their natural habitat from an open vehicle at sunrise. Taste wines that have been aging longer than we have been alive. Sail the Atlantic with Table Mountain as your backdrop on the day Octasia turns 40. Visit Robben Island and stand where history was made. Come home with photographs worth framing, friendships worth keeping, and a week you will spend the rest of your life grateful you said yes to.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 — Wednesday, October 14 - Wheels Up
Everyone departs from the U.S. today. Most flights route through Doha, Dubai, or Johannesburg — once your spot is reserved, we'll send a full flight guide with recommended routes and connection tips so you arrive as smoothly as possible.
DAY 2 — Thursday, October 15 - Welcome to Cape Town
Your private driver meets you at Cape Town International and brings you directly to the villa. Cold towels, welcome drinks, and a curated gift basket will be waiting when you walk through the door. Take your time — settle in, unpack, let the jet lag go. Tonight, the private chef prepares the first in-villa dinner for the group. Candlelit, unhurried, the week beginning exactly the way it should.
DAY 3 — Friday, October 16 - Spa Day & Dinner at a surprise restaurant
No early alarms. Breakfast on the terrace, then a full group spa day — massages, facials, and everything in between. By evening, the group gets dressed for dinner at a surprise Restaurant: a 14-course African tasting menu paired with live drumming and a show. It is theatre and dinner in one room, and it is not something you'll forget.
DAY 4 — Saturday, October 17 - Stellenbosch Wine Tour & Photoshoot
A private guide takes the group through the Stellenbosch wine valley — three of the region's finest estates, with a long, unhurried lunch among the vines. That afternoon, a professional photographer joins for the group photoshoot. Bring your best outfit. The edited gallery will be delivered within a few weeks of returning home — real photos of real moments, not posed shots in a club.
DAY 5 — Sunday, October 18 - Safari, All Day
An early departure for a full day on a private game reserve. Open vehicles, an expert ranger, and the Big Five in their actual habitat — not behind glass, not at a zoo. Lunch is served on the reserve. The group returns to the villa by sunset, drinks in hand, with the kind of stories that don't translate well over text.
DAY 6 — Monday, October 19 ★ OCTASIA'S BIRTHDAY ★Yacht Day
The actual day. A private yacht departs from the V&A Waterfront with the whole group on board — champagne, food, music Octasia curated, and the Atlantic Ocean in every direction. Table Mountain sits on the horizon the entire time. The group swims, toasts, and takes the kind of photos worth framing. That evening, the chef prepares a birthday dinner at the villa — glam, intentional, gift exchange. The night Octasia has been looking forward to all year.
DAY 7 — Tuesday, October 20 - Robben Island & Cape Town
A morning ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 imprisoned years. It is one of the most important sites on the continent, and visiting it changes something in you. Afterward, a private city tour through Bo-Kaap, the District Six Museum, and the neighborhoods that tell the real story of Cape Town. The week closes with a farewell dinner at one of the city's most celebrated restaurants.
DAY 8 — Wednesday, October 21 - Until Next Time
One final breakfast at the villa. Private drivers take the group to the airport throughout the morning. Everyone goes home tanner, fuller, and already talking about the next one.
