Carry-on bags are absolutely necessary to travel, there’s hardly anyone that gets on a plane without one, and for good reason. They are accessible to you at all times throughout your trip unlike your checked-in luggage, so here are our five must-haves for your carry on bag:

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

These are the first things that should make their way into your carry-on bag, they include but are not limited to your passport, visa, and boarding pass. You will need these at different points of your journey, so it’s always a good idea to have them handy in your carry-on bag.

MONEY / METHOD OF PAYMENT

A form of monetary currency is a must to have with you at all times. Cash is always king, however, some places do allow cards (be sure to alert your bank of your travel destination and days so they do not block your transactions) so it is always good to have both. Whether you need to purchase food at the airport or on the plane or you need to have a visa fee on arrival. Having access to money nearby is always a stress reliever.

HAND SANITIZER

It’s undeniable that the coronavirus came and really rocked our world in a lot of unpleasant ways, and in the process, it made us more aware of the need to be very hygiene conscious. So, we definitely recommend having an alcohol-based hand sanitizer in your carry-on bag. By having your hand sanitizer close by and using it as needed, you can help slow the spread of germs thereby protecting yourself and others. Remember to do your research for the approved hand sanitizer travel size.

TRAVEL SIZE TOILETRIES

If you are traveling internationally, chances are you will be on a long flight with no access to showers and baths. However, most airplanes are equipped with bathrooms where you can brush your teeth, wash your hands and face and clean many other areas on your body. That process will be a lot easier if you come with the necessary products needed such as toothbrush, toothpaste, face cleanser( or soap) a small towel rag etc..

CHARGERS

When traveling, you are almost always going to have an electronic device or two with you. And since you are most likely going to spend a good amount of time waiting before you board and take off, you want to ensure that you have your charger nearby, so you can charge your device if the battery starts to run down. You are traveling, you need to be able to reach people and people need to be able to reach you, so take your charger, and have it on standby, ready to charge your devices if the need arises.

A PEN

If you are traveling internationally, we recommend you pack a pen in your carry-on luggage, because you may need it to fill out something like an arrival card upon getting to your destination country. We know you could ask someone else for their pen, but why do that when you can just come along with yours?
